My name is Dylan Snell and am from Birmingham, AL but for now live in Mobile, AL for college. I am a sophomore theology major at Spring Hill College. I’ve also had experiences in military training and deployment environments which informed my personal experience with mental health issues. However, in terms of psychological education I’m a complete amateur and this is created based on personal research and for the sake of accessibility to this information. None of this should be taken as a primary or even secondary source for serious research, only to promote awareness.

Though I am not pursuing a career in the field of psychology itself I still believe that an understanding of psychopathology is important to my professional interests. As a theology major I plan to enter into an employment field which is heavily pastoral which means that developing a basic non-judgemental understanding of those with mental health struggles is very important for my function. I also want to apply myself to my community outside of the direct responsibilities of my career path, for which understanding enough to promote mental health awareness and guide people in the right direction will be valuable.
